Hi, I'm the Nerd in the Shed and I want to be your internet biker buddy
0:03
So please consider subscribing for more awesome content just like this. Sound familiar? It's because I stole it from one of my favourite YouTube channels
0:11
So in this video I'm going to chat about my top 5 favourite YouTube channels on motorbikes
0:17
Stay tuned. Hi, I'm Francois from AdventureBikeTroop.com and I really need a new intro
0:28
Anyways, we're going to chat about my five favorite YouTube channels and I've picked channels that are small to medium sized
0:34
It's where the owner or the guy from the channel, the biker, films himself
0:40
so there's no film crew, it's normal guys just filming themselves and some of them are really doing quite well and growing fast
0:47
So let's get started So the first one, the one I stole the intro from, is the dork in the road
0:52
A lot of you will know the dork, I don't know his real name, he doesn't mention it on the channel
0:57
He calls his daughter LittleDork and his wife Mrs.Dork. It's just awesome
1:02
Super down to earth. He started riding about four or five years ago, he says on his channel
1:08
And he's super humble. He just shares his love for biking and wants to get more people into biking
1:14
He recently quit his job to go full time. So he posts about three videos a week
1:18
So he's quite committed or very committed to the channel. He mostly does motor camping trips solo or with other riders in his area
1:27
I think it's somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. He goes to events, does some collaborations, I think with Giant Loop for instance
1:35
So he does a couple of bike reviews, or gear reviews. He's owned a couple of bikes on the channel, a Honda CR-F250L
1:42
He then bought the DRZ 400, which he still has and takes to events
1:47
He's got a Grom, a Honda Grom, which he built into an adventure Grom
1:51
which he takes it on solo camping trips. He had an Africa Twin which he sold now to buy a new KLR
1:57
So he really has a mix of bikes and he tests them properly and does a whole lot of stuff on them
2:03
And he films himself and the scenery and just shares his love for biking And he gone full time so please go and support him Then number two Torture Test Magazine He also has just over 30 subscribers
2:16
and this is really one of my favorite channels. Gabriel, or Gabe from the channel, is super committed
2:22
I haven't seen any other YouTuber so committed to what he's doing
2:26
He lives out of his Toyota, 400 old Peter Toyota truck out in the desert where he films and edits his videos
2:34
He sometimes even shoots his videos in his truck where he stays and he keeps it running in the parking lot with the aircon on
2:40
So it's just awesome fun to watch. And he really tests the bike
2:45
So his channel's name is Torture Test Magazine. And he really torture tests every bike
2:50
So it's mostly four strokes that he then races against two stoke dirt bikes
2:54
So he's had a 250R, a Honda XR 250R, a Honda XR 600R, a 650R, 650L, sorry
3:02
He had a KDX200 That was the only two-stroke that I know of
3:07
He has a Suzuki SP500 The Super Pooper Bikes falling apart, but he races it
3:13
And then my favorite, the DR200 Which he raced in a couple of races
3:19
Again, against dirt bikes That's how I found the channel One of you, my viewers, in the comments
3:24
Suggested his channel because of that DR200 Now, what he did is he bought this B-Tab 200
3:31
and then raced it in a 24-hour endurance race at Glen Helen
3:36
And he came second overall on that DR against all those other two-stroke bikes
3:42
And so it's just persistence and not quitting. He even led the race during the night
3:48
but ended up being second. So it's just awesome fun to watch. And he's so knowledgeable about how the bike handles
3:54
When he does a review, it's a proper review. Every single thing you can think of
3:59
I always learned something new that I didn't think of when riding like this
4:04
how the suspension behaves or the engine or whatever. So it's just awesome fun to watch and it's just a nice guy
4:10
It's just fun to see his attitude and how he commits to what he's doing
4:13
and he's an awesome rider as well. Then number 3 Big Rock Moto It a bit of a bigger channel It got 55 plus subscribers and now Ian does a lot of bike reviews also some tips riding tips
4:29
And it is super knowledgeable and super professional in the way he researches his, researches his, okay I'm not going to show you what it is
4:36
Super professional in the way he researches the content and then provides as much information as possible, as much value to the viewer
4:45
Yeah, he's also very humble, but he knows what he's doing and I just like that he properly
4:51
tests something before he gives his review. So he'd either hide a press bike for a month and then do a proper review on it or he buys
4:59
the bikes. He just bought a new KLR 650, I think he had an African twin before that
5:04
He has a BMW R1250GS Adventure, I think, and then he just bought a T7 as well for the channel
5:13
So he does proper research before he records a video, and that is just awesome to see
5:20
One example of the length he goes to is he went to Eagle Mike that knows the KLRs for more than 20 years
5:29
He's done more than 1,000 KLR doohikis. He makes the doohikis, the replacement, balance the chain adjustment lever
5:37
And he did an interview with him where he went through all the generations of the KLRs
5:42
and what the problems are and what to look out for. So that's the length he goes to to give informative valuable content
5:49
So his channel also recently got hacked, I think a week or two ago
5:53
where he lost the whole channel for four days. He had to fight to get it back
5:58
And so he lost a whole lot of momentum on the channel. So please go and give it a like, subscribe, comment
6:04
watch the videos through to get the momentum going again. And yeah, so that's Big Rock Moto
6:09
Now number four, and this is known for no particular order, is a bigger channel, 106,000 subscribers, B-Rad or Prad
6:18
He carves up his single tracks and his backyard motocross track or the riverbeds on a YZ125 or a YZ250 mostly
6:28
Super skillful rider He spent more than four years honing his skills So it just awesome fun to watch but he super down to earth and his videos are super cinematic even my wife which is not that into bikes can watch the videos
6:42
from start to finish because it's so brilliantly produced and filmed and he does that mostly
6:47
himself sometimes has help from friends but still a one-man show mostly and when he learns new skills
6:55
He films the whole process from the first try up a big step with his dirt bike
6:59
And he will crash the bike and go on until he gets it right and films the whole process so you can see how he goes through it
7:05
And at the end of most of his proper riding films, he also shows the crashes
7:11
So it just makes it more real and relatable, but an awesome rider and awesome guy and
7:16
Great quality content to watch and the videos are mostly short and sweet
7:21
So you won't waste your time go and watch b-ray And then the last of the fifth channel that I want to mention here is Off Road Of Course
7:29
So this is a guy from Portugal. I'm gonna try to pronounce the name. I think it's Diogo Guerra
7:35
It's probably wrong. He says it much faster. Anyways, Diogo is great fun to watch. Great sense of humor. A lot of
7:44
cheesy jokes without being cheesy. It just pulls it off great. Very dry humor but fun to watch. Nice guy. He's a tour guide, does bike tours and
7:54
he mostly shows tips and tutorials and touring videos. Just a fun channel to
8:01
watch. Small channels almost 8,000 subscribers but it's growing quickly and he does not publish something if he's not happy with it and if it doesn't add
8:10
value. So it's really worth it to go and watch it and he rides an XT 660R as
8:15
as far as I can see. But yeah, go and check out Offroad Offcourse. It was a channel that
8:23
I only recently stumbled upon but I really enjoy it. So that's my recommendation of my favourite biker YouTube channels. If you have any other
8:32
channels that you can recommend to me, please post it in the comments. I'd love to hear from you. So thank you again for all the support. I've got some awesome content planned for
8:41
later in this year. So please stick around, subscribe if you're not subscribed and I'll
8:45
I'll see you next week. Cheers
